Just a few How-To’s and tips for those that have signed up.
The front page has how many events and artists we have in the database
If an event has a red + sign, it is a new event that you haven’t seen.
If an event has a grey + sign, it means you’ve seen it!
If an event has a black + sign, it means you’ve added it to your personalized schedule.
The MySchedule button will be functional soon. But you can add things to your schedule now and it will save them. You will be able to download your schedule for storage or printing later on.
Last year, I wrote Cheap & Successful: A Newcomer’s Guide to SXSW! Instead of re-posting it, I thought I’d refine some of the suggestions. This is now my sixth SXSW and our sixth party list created. People still email me and ask “Do I need a wristband or badge?” In the past, I’ve always said “absolutely not,” but now I would say “It can be fun to have if you come across one.” Last year I had a wristband and absolutely loved running around to showcases from around 8pm - 10pm, when I used to go home and take a nap. WHO NEEDS NAPS?!
Interactive
Interactive can be some of the best times for music lovers. Don’t underestimate the ability of technology people to bring in some rad bands. Last year, on SXSWi Monday, I saw Matt & Kim, Sleigh Bells, and Yeasayer, all at different venues. All with different companies (Gowalla, Zynga, Microsoft, respectively). There’s also a ton more free food during this time, in my opinion.

I just got a sneak preview of some elements of our website. HOLY COW. It’ll be worth the wait. (Plus I think it might be close to finished!) Don’t worry, we’re hurrying as fast as we can, as we know RSVP’S are already pouring in.
If you want to do some sleuthing on your own, before we take over the hard work for you, follow @SXSWPartyList. They don’t miss a beat on the RSVP’s and you can get your party on. Once our site is up, you’ll be able to keep track of which things you’ve rsvp’d to on your personal schedule, so it won’t be such a mess! You can also sign up with RSVPster, who will do the rsvp-ing for you!
